Wayanad:

The captivating green paradise of Wayanad is a perfect quaint getaway, due to its proximity to some major cities nearby. The rugged terrain and dense forest is filled with a number of tales. Day wise Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival Mysore – Wayanad (160 Kms / 3 Hrs 10 Mins)

On arrival at Mysore airport or Railway Station or Bus Stand, You will be transfer to Wayanad. After check in, your day tour would start with sightseeing at Banasura Sagar Dam. It is the largest earthen dam in India and the second largest in Asia and an ideal starting point for hikes into the surrounding mountain.

Next Move to Pookode Lake – Which is natural freshwater lake nestling amid evergreen forests and mountain slopes at an altitude of 770 meters above sea level. Evening visit to Lakkidi view point – It is the gates way of Wayanad as it is located at the crest of the serpentine Thamarassery ghat pass. There are nine hairpin curves. Later return back to the resort and overnight stat at Wayanad.

Day 2: Wayanad Local Sightseeing

 Chembra Peak – is the highest peak in Wayanad, A heart shaped lake on the way to the top of the peak is a major tourist attraction. Next moving to Glass Bridge 900 at Kandi, Soochipara waterfalls and Kanthanparai waterfalls (If time permits). Evening back to the resort and overnight stat at Wayanad.

Day 3: Wayanad Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, go for sightseeing visit the Phantom Rock, an later visit the Edakkal Caves, Edakkal Caves are two natural caves at a remote location at Edakkal, Inside the caves are pictorial writings believed to date to at least 6,000 BC. Then visit Karapuzha Dam which is the first Irrigation project taken up in Wayanad District with an average elevation of 780 meter above sea level. The reservoir with partially submerged hills forming green islands makes an ideal place for aquatic birds. Evening back to the resort and overnight stat at Wayanad.

Day 4: Fly Back Home

After early breakfast, drive to Kuruvadweep Island. Later transfer to the airport or railway stationto boards your return flight or train back home.
