Varanasi, or Benares, (also known as Kashi) is one of the oldest living cities in the world. Varanasi`s Prominence in Hindu mythology is virtually unrevealed. Mark Twain, the English author and literature, who was enthralled by the legend and sanctity of Banaras, once wrote:

“Benares is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together”.

The land of Varanasi (Kashi) has been the ultimate pilgrimage spot for Hindus for ages. Hindus believe that one who is graced to die on the land of Varanasi would attain salvation and freedom from the cycle of birth and re-birth. Abode of Lord Shiva and Parvati, the origins of Varanasi are yet unknown. Ganges in Varanasi is believed to have the power to wash away the sins of mortals. Day wise Itinerary:

DAY 01: ARRIVE VARANASI:

On Arrival at Varanasi railway station or airport, pick up and transfer to hotel. Check in to hotel. In the evening, get ready to experience one of the most memorable moments of your life, as you will be taken to River Ganges. Enjoy Ganga Aarti. Get a glimpse of the spiritualism at the Ganga Ghats (river front). Can enjoy the Ganga Aarti on Boat (Optional and at your own cost). Overnight stay in Varanasi.

DAY 02: VARANASI SIGHTSEEING- SARNATH – VARANASI:

After breakfast, we visit the most religious Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Annapurna temple, The Bharat Mata temple, Sankat mochan (Hanuman Temple), Manas Mandir and BHU.

In the afternoon, you will be taken for an excursion to Sarnath. Sarnath is the place where Buddha delivered his first sermon to his disciples. The attractions at Sarnath are the Buddha temples, the Dhamekha stupa, the Chaukhandi stupa and the archaeological museum. Later return back to Varanasi. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

DAY 03: VARANASI – BODHGAYA – GAYA – BODHGAYA (300KMS / 6 HRS)

After breakfast transfer to Bodhgaya. Check in to the hotel. Later Visit Bodhgaya & Gaya local sightseeing. Overnight stay in Bodhgaya.

DAY 04: BODHGAYA – NALANDA – RAJGIR – BODHGAYA (90 KMS / 2 HR 30 MNS)

After breakfast, drive to Nalanda. Visit Ruins of Nalanda University, Nalanda archaeological museum, Kundalapur Digambar Jain temple, later back to Rajgir. Visit Veerayatana Jain museum, Vishwa Shanti Stupa, Brahma Kund, Swarn Bandar, Bimbisara Jail and Ajathasatru fort (If time permits visit more places). Later back to the hotel. Overnight stay in Bodhgaya.

DAY 05: BODHGAYA – VARANASI

After breakfast, transfer to Varanasi. Check in to the hotel. Day free at Leisure. Overnight stay in Varanasi.

DAY 06: VARANASI – PRAYAGRAJ - DEPARTURE

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Allahabad. It takes 3 hours to reach Allahabad from Varanasi. You will be taken on a sightseeing trip immediately. Sangam is the first spot in the one. This is the place where River Ganges, Yamuna and Saraswati are. It is a holy place for Hindus and you can find numerous people performing rituals and taking holy dips in the shallow waters. Later visit Anand Bhawan, Swaraj Bhawan, and Hanuman Temple. In the evening you will transfer to Prayagraj railway station for departure.
